Applications are invited for four, 2-year term assistant teaching professor positions with the potential for 2-year renewals in the Department of Nursing & Health Sciences. These positions involve classroom, practice, and laboratory teaching responsibilities in the undergraduate program. All candidates must have completed a Bachelor of Nursing degree and a Master of Nursing degree. Consideration will also be given to candidates with a Master of Nursing degree near completion or candidates without a Master of Nursing degree but with an equivalent level of professional/practical experience. We are looking for enthusiastic assistant teaching professors passionate about clinical education with a proven track record in teaching and a clinical focus in a variety of practice areas with preference for those specializing in continuing care and hospital-based nursing practice. Candidates with other areas of expertise will also be considered. Candidates for these positions must be eligible for registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick and hold registration prior to appointment. Registration must be maintained throughout employment. These are full year term contracts with possible teaching assignments in the fall, winter, and summer. These positions are anticipated to commence on August 12, 2024 and are subject to final budgetary approval.

The Department of Nursing and Health Sciences is part of a fully nationally accredited and approved provincial nursing program offering Bachelor of Nursing (BN), LPN - BN Bridge, Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHS) and the Step Up to Nursing (SUN) (BN) degrees.

The University of New Brunswick Saint John is situated at Tucker Park and participates in an interprofessional educational approach for healthcare students. The university is adjacent to Saint John Regional Hospital - New Brunswick's largest research and tertiary care hospital and primary health care referral centre for major trauma, cardiac care, and internal medicine - Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick, and New Brunswick Community College Allied Health Programs. The city of Saint John has all the amenities of a large urban centre but maintains the friendliness and charm of a small city. Situated on the Bay of Fundy, Saint John is well-known for its historic architecture, high tides, and thriving arts and culture community.
