The Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Management (ForEM) at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada invites applications for a full-time, probationary (tenure-track) appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Remote Sensing and Spatial Analysis. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in remote sensing and geospatial analyses, or related field, and be prepared to teach and conduct externally funded research in the areas of remote sensing using modern cartographic software tools, image processing, and geostatistics with specific experience in the environmental and natural resources management sectors such as forestry, agriculture, conservation, and/or watersheds.
Candidates will have a strong background in applied remote sensing that will be demonstrated by teaching experience and research publications in forestry and environmental management that match our faculty's programs and research which span topics from silviculture to conservation at local and global scales.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach or co-teach the equivalent of four (4) courses each year, which will include introductory and advanced remote sensing applications plus courses from our curriculum that align with the candidate's experience in the undergraduate and graduate programs. The selected candidate will provide evidence of high-quality teaching and success in publishing in peer-reviewed science and management journals. Familiarity and experience working with forest ecosystems and collaborative work with other scientists, managers, and Indigenous rightsholders, plus diverse stakeholder groups in industry, government, and not-for-profit organizations will be considered as strong assets.

The current salary range for the rank of Assistant Professor is $92,939.00 (floor) to $132,998.00 (ceiling). There is an economic increase and a progression through the ranks increase in January and July of each year as per negotiated collective agreements.
