The Faculty of Education invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank, starting July 1, 2023.
Applicants should hold a doctorate in the relevant field. The disciplinary background of the candidate may include:
- Extensive practical and research expertise in the use of technology to support teaching and learning in K-12 classrooms, and/or postsecondary and training contexts.
- Familiarity with the scholarship of instructional systems design, learning design, online learning, or related area(s).
- Expertise in and ability to offer undergraduate and graduate courses on the design of instructional media, such as instructional needs assessment, instructional message design, current trends in educational technology, and learning theory within the context of instructional design.
- Demonstrated research commitment to critical perspectives in the design and/or application of digital technologies in education.
- High level of familiarity with digital literacy competencies and demonstrated ability to support teachers and learners in making thoughtful decisions about technology use.
The successful candidate will be able to teach courses about technology integration in both undergraduate and graduate programs and will be able to teach instructional design courses at the graduate level. Therefore, experience teaching at the K-12, undergraduate and graduate level is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in arts methodologies.
The appointment, effective July 1, 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter, will be at the Assistant Professor level.
