It was in her first year of science that Lua Samimi joined the UNB chapter of Global Brigades, an international student-led organization that helps improve the health, water, sanitation and economic infrastructure of rural communities.
Lua’s experiences in Honduras encouraged her to step into a leadership role, and in 2015 she become Co-President of the UNB Medical Chapter. This involvement also reinforced her desire to become a physician.
“This is an important program and I was happy to put my efforts and energy into something that matters to me and will impact others in a positive way,” says the Dean’s List student.
