Hear from Scott Stirrett, who left a promising career at Goldman Sachs in his early 20s to launch Venture for Canada, helping young Canadians build entrepreneurial careers. Over the past decade, he’s raised over $80M, became an Ashoka fellow, and now written a book sharing what he learned. Open to students of all programs, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members.

Katie Ko, Associate at Ripple Ventures, will join the UNB Venture Assessment class virtually to share what venture capitalists really look for when evaluating startups. Open to all, this session offers a candid look into the VC mindset, with time for Q&A session toward the end.

Rosalyn Hyslop is a social entrepreneur passionate about family, business, and community. As Co-CEO of Mrs. Dunster’s, the largest independently owned bakery in Atlantic Canada, she helps lead a company distributing to more than 800 stores and restaurants across the Maritimes and Maine. Rosalyn has been recognized as a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award, co-recipient of Huddle’s 2017 Entrepreneurs of the Year, and Mrs. Dunster’s was named Exporter of the Year for New Brunswick and received the Food in Canada Leadership Award.

Beyond business, Rosalyn runs the Good Fit Book charity, which promotes literacy and earned the Marilyn Trenholme Counsell Literacy Award. She lives in Quispamsis, NB, with her husband and business partner Blair, and their children Josie, Emma, and Noah.

Blair Hyslop is Co-CEO of Mrs. Dunster’s, a leading Atlantic Canadian bakery serving more than 800 grocery stores and restaurants across the Maritimes and Maine.

Before purchasing Mrs. Dunster’s with his wife Rosalyn in 2014, Blair spent much of his career with McCain International, where he helped expand the McCain brand into emerging global markets.Under Blair and Rosalyn’s leadership, Mrs. Dunster’s has grown through multiple acquisitions to become the region’s largest family-owned bakery. Blair is a five-time Top 50 CEO Award winner, a Top 50 CEO Hall of Fame inductee (2021), and has been recognized alongside Rosalyn as a finalist for EY Entrepreneur of the Year.

Blair also contributes to the business community as a Board Member of the Wallace McCain Institute (WMI), a past President of The Order (WMI Alumni Association), and a Carpe Diem Award recipient. He and Rosalyn live in Quispamsis, NB, where they continue to grow a purpose-driven, family-led business.
