Research focus

The Faculty of Kinesiology’s research is focused on the biosciences; psychological, socio-cultural, managerial and philosophical aspects of human performance, recreation and sport; and personal and community health and wellness.

Topics range from exploring the processes underlying motor control to investigating volunteerism at national events, and assessing the indices of fatigue in lifting tasks in industry.

Industry collaboration

UNB leads the province in health and wellness research through collaboration with groups such as The Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation, River Valley Health, the world-renowned Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, various sport and recreation agencies, and governmental departments. Researchers at UNB offer their clinical expertise to New Brunswick physicians and their patients in a number of areas.
