Anne Neal joined the Faculty of Business of the University of New Brunswick in Saint John in 2023 as a member of the Accounting area. Prior to joining UNB, she taught and facilitated technical accounting, business planning, finance, and ethics courses at Carleton University, Nipissing University, and Algonquin College in Ontario Canada and for the Chartered Professional Accounting Association.
Anne is a member in good standing of CPA as of 2014, after first receiving a CMA designation in 2010. Since pursuing a career in accounting, Anne has worked in functional accounting, administrative, and management roles in industry and in post-secondary institutions and brings these experiences into her teaching philosophy.
Anne’s research interests focus on the social and cultural aspects of accounting as a profession and a practice. As a qualitative researcher, she is currently working on research around accounting standard setting, presentations of accountants in newspapers during a fraud scandal, and accounting research on equity, diversity, and inclusion.
