Morrie Mendelson joined the Faculty of Business of the University of New Brunswick in Saint John in 2001. He is a member of the Human Resources area.
Dr. Mendelson teaches courses in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources Management at the undergraduate level and Human Behaviour and Leadership at the MBA level. Dr. Mendelson was recognized with the UNB Saint John Faculty Excellence Award for Teaching in 2008. Before joining the University of New Brunswick, Dr. Mendelson was a faculty member at Wilfrid Laurier University and an instructor and PhD student at Queen’s University. He was tenured and promoted to the rank of Associate Professor at UNB in 2007.
Dr. Mendelson’s authored articles are included in the International Journal of Human Resource Management, Leadership and Organization Development Journal, Personnel Review, Work and Stress, Child Abuse and Neglect, Sex Roles, Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, Journal of Quality Management and Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin. In 2012, one of his publications was chosen as a Highly Commended Paper at the Literati Network Awards for Excellence. In addition, he has been recognized with an Outstanding Reviewer Award by the Academy of Management and a Best Paper Award at the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada.
Dr. Mendelson has an extensive record of service with the Faculty, the University and the community. In addition to serving as Acting Dean in 2013 and Assistant Dean from 2009 to 2010, he served on numerous committees including Saint John Senate, the Faculty and Interfaculty Assessment Committees, and the Saint John Senate Teaching Awards Committee. In the community, Morrie has served on the board of WorkSafe NB, Ties 2 Work, the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue (formerly known as the Animal Rescue League) and the Saint John Jewish Historical Society.
