Amy Siegel is an interdisciplinary artist, scholar, curator and educator. Amy’s award-winning artistic work explores archives, gender, and the body through film, installation, performance and media art.
Their work has been shown at galleries, art residencies and festivals, including Nuit Blanche Toronto, Luminato, Third Shift and Summerworks Performance Festival.
From 2018-2023, Amy was the Creative Director of the ReFrame Film Festival, a social justice documentary film festival in Nogojiwanong/Peterborough, Ontario. Amy’s academic research builds on their artistic and curatorial work, connecting feminist media scholarship to queer artistic practice.
Amy Siegel holds an MFA in Documentary Media from Toronto Metropolitan University, an MA in Adult Education & Community Development from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto and a BA in Communications Studies from Concordia University.
Amy is currently pursuing a PhD in Communication & Culture at York University.
