UAV Mission Notice 

Date: Nov. 15-16, 2024 

Times: 6 - 8 a.m. 

Area: North-East section of campus (depicted below) 

This notice is to inform all students, faculty and staff that a UAV mission will be conducted on the UNB Fredericton campus. This mission will be conducted by students and faculty in the Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering department.  

This mission will collect LiDAR and Thermal Imaging data of the outside of select buildings on campus to be used for a Capstone Senior Design Project. The buildings to be mapped are Head Hall, Lady Beaverbrook residence, Provincial Archives, R.N. Scott Hall, Experimental Education Office, Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre, Grad House and MacLaggan Hall.

Key Details  

The UAV will follow a preprogrammed flight route that ensures complete coverage of the areas of interest 

The area highlighted and the buildings listed will be the only areas on campus affected by this mission 

The appropriate safety protocols will be implemented and diligently followed   

Safety Reminders 

If possible, please avoid the area of interest throughout the duration of the mission 

Follow instructions of the crew conducting the survey
