Join us for a critical panel discussion on the Paris 2024 Canadian Women's Soccer Drone Incident, featuring a diverse panel of experts who bring their perspectives on sport, integrity, and national identity. The Drone Incident raises questions about technology's role in sports, fair play, and international relations.

Whether you're a student of sport, a professional in the field, or simply a curious observer, this panel will provoke thought and spark dialogue on the future of sport and the ethical challenges it faces.
• Chris Belof, ChPC: Head coach of the UNB REDS cross country and track & field teams, High Performance Coach for Athletics New Brunswick, and club coach for the Saint John Track & Field Club. He worked with Athletics Canada as an event coach at the 2022 (Eugene, Oregon), 2023 (Budapest, Hungary) World Championships, along with the 2024 (Paris, France) Olympic Games. He is the Team NB Head Coach for athletics at the 2025 Canada Summer Games in St. John’s, NFLD. Belof will describe his experiences and thoughts as the news broke while preparing Canadian athletes for the Olympic Games in Paris.
• Kristi Allain, PhD: Professor of sociology and Canada Research Chair in Physical Culture and Social Life at St. Thomas University. Her research focuses on the dynamics of power at play in sport and Canadian national identities.
• Nathan Kalman-Lamb, PhD: Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of New Brunswick, where he teaches on social theory and sport. He is co-author of the forthcoming book The End of College Football: On the Human Cost of an All-American Game and author of Game Misconduct: Injury, Fandom, and the Business of Sport. He is co-host of The End of Sport podcast.
• Barry Morrison: Head Coach of the UNB Men's Soccer Team. With extensive experience in collegiate soccer, Morrison will provide insights into the ethos of soccer, and the tactical implications and dilemmas that arise when technology challenges the integrity of the game.
