The UNB Art Centre is pleased to showcase Boy T in the second show of its new series UNDERCURRENT.

This new music/performance series was initiated earlier this year to shine the spotlight on talented artists in music, video, dance and spoken word. Boy T will perform on Thursday, March 21 at 7:30 p.m. in UNB’s Memorial Hall.

“We’re very excited to include Boy T in this new series showcasing emerging talent in Fredericton,” says Marie Maltais, Director of the UNB Art Centre. “Boy T is definitely an up-and-coming artist to watch.”

Boy T is a bilingual artist with a predominately urban music style, focussed on R&B/Hip-Hop. In his early childhood, he discovered his love for rhythmic dances, such as salsa and breakdance and was later inspired by American and French Hip-Hop artists. In 2020, he released his first album “Awake.” In 2022, he was nominated for Song of the Year, Video of the Year, Innovator of the Year, and Revelation of the Year by Music/Musique NB. In 2023, he was nominated for Record of the Year in the R&B/Soul category at the East Coast Music Awards and invited to perform in the ECMA showcase. He has performed at the Summer Soulsa Festival in Fredericton and at the Université de Moncton. He has numerous videos on YouTube and his work has been included in the curriculum developed by the province’s Department of Education and Early Childhood Development for Black History Month.

UNDERCURRENT events are free and open to the public. The UNB Art Centre is located in Memorial Hall, 9 Bailey Drive on the UNB Fredericton campus.
