Join us to hear from Dr. Jules Maitland!

Dr. Jules Maitland is the founder of All In, a strategic design agency dedicated to the public and social sector innovation and social change, the first of its kind in Atlantic Canada.

Jules is an experienced researcher, designer, and strategic thinker. She connects the dots between people, problems, and possibilities to imagine alternative futures and take action to make life better together. She has a multidisciplinary background in nursing, human-computer interaction, digital health, and social innovation. Her PhD from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Glasgow examined the mismatch between assumptions embodied in the design of health-related behavioural change technologies and the lived experience of people and their surrounding social determinants of health.

She moved to New Brunswick from the UK in 2009 to join Canada's National Research Council's People-Centred Technologies Group where she led the Mobile HCI Lab, before transitioning to the digital health industry as Director of User Experience & Adoption at Populus Global Solutions. She is the co-founder of Civic Tech Fredericton, and has supported public sector innovation initiatives in Canada, the UAE, and the UK.
