QUEST-SJ Qualitative Health Research Group at UNB Saint John -FR and SJ
Event Details:
This session will feature: Methodological Focus: “Makin’ it Work: Exploring Research Innovations at NB Social Pediatrics.”
Dr. Sarah Gander, Pediatrician, Co-lead for the NB Social Pediatrics Research Program, will explore the ever-changing landscape of clinical research during unforeseen and anticipated changes (i.e., qualitative interview 'no-shows’, staff turnover, pandemics, “fires” that need to be put out, grant cycles ending) and the need for ongoing short and long term plans to accomplish outcomes. How can we as research teams aim to be flexible enough to meet commitments, jump on opportunities, collaborate but nurture our niche and team? This will be an interactive session where participants leave feeling focused and in control of their master plan.
QUEST-SJ brings together researchers, academics, students and other stakeholders from across disciplines and sectors to build qualitative health research capacity in the Saint John area. Membership currently represents a broad range of qualitative research expertise, interest across various disciplines (e.g., nursing, business, sociology, psychology, medicine), and a mix of healthcare and non-profit organizations.
The qualitative research group meets monthly (except July and August) to discuss topics in qualitative research (e.g. ethics, funding, opportunities to collaborate), methodological approaches to research and other emerging issues in the development of knowledge.
Anyone interested in qualitative health research is most welcome to attend.
