UNB Art Centre Design Works Wednesdays - Create at Home Series is moving to a new format and new Instructor!
A huge thank you to Jody McCleary who taught our first run of workshops! We are not saying goodbye to Jody as she is now going to be teaching for our Design Works Online Drawing Master Class camps and private online sessions!
Our new instructor: Meghan Loch (some of you may remember Meghan from last Summer if you came to any of our Design Works Camps)
Our new Format: We will be pre-recording workshops and posting them at 10 a.m. (ADT) on our Facebook page. Same time, just a different format! Workshops will be saved in the video section of our UNB Art Centre Facebook page for you to pause, go back, go forward, as many times as you like! Leave any questions and comments you have about the workshop under the video and you will be answered as soon as possible.
Meet Meghan: She is an early elementary teacher and a former Design Works instructor! She also teaches music and art. Meghan believes that anyone can be an artist. She loves to lead students in whimsical, colourful arts and crafts projects that combine art fundamentals and imagination.
Our First Project with Meghan on Wednesday, June 10 will be Picasso Pet Paintings.
Join Meghan as we flip our papers and our ideas of how to draw animals upside down! This fun, step by step workshop will have you following along to create some wacky, unexpected results with crazy colours. This technique can inspire a whole new style for endless Picasso-style pieces using basic art and craft supplies!
Supplies to have handy:
Thick paper that you can paint on, available at the Dollar Store or craft supply stores
Pencil and eraser
Paint brushes
Your favourite paint
A thick black marker
Scissors
Your imagination!
Design Works Camps is unable to have in-person camps on the UNB campus, so we have gone virtual to provide at-home learning opportunities for your kids and teens this summer!
The UNB Art Centre galleries and Design Works Camps at Memorial Hall on the UNB Fredericton campus are currently closed as a result of the COVID-19 emergency. Please follow our exhibits and programs online.
