Members of the panel will put the 2015 refugee crisis into a global context. Panellists will provide focus for a discussion about the factors leading to the crisis, human rights issues, the logistics of housing a large influx of people within urban spaces, the experience of being a refugee, while problematizing the designation of the term refugee and exploring the role of art in critically representing the refugee as an otherized subject.
Panellists include Antoine Cassar, Independent Poet and Activist, Qrendi, Malta; Olga Lafazani, University of Thessaly, Volos, Greece; Behzad Khosravi Noori, Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design, Stockholm, Sweden.
