There will be two sessions held on Thursday, Aug. 23 - from 9 - 11 a.m. and from 1 - 3 p.m.

Is it possible that your performance in the classroom may get in the way of your teaching? Professors can often transform the effectiveness of their teaching through the adoption of a few basic and accessible techniques. In this two-hour session, Kate Bligh offers some key, easy-to- adopt and game-changing recommendations for vocal and physical technique in the classroom, along with key suggestions for audience interaction, and question asking and answering.

Biography: Kate is a lecturer in the Departments of Theatre and English at Concordia University, Montreal, and has an MFA in theatre directing from the University of Birmingham, UK. She holds citizenship from England and Canada after moving to Montréal, Quebec 20 years ago from England and is fully bilingual. For two decades now she has been consulting for, coaching, and training professional people whose work requires them to perform in the real world.

Feedback received after Kate Bligh's session at UNB in 2013:

"I would use the word transformational when describing the effect."

"Ms. Bligh was an excellent presenter, effective and clear. She had practical, sensible ways for most of us to improve. I have been teaching for many years, and have excellence in teaching awards. I left the session wishing I had been to such a session of hers much earlier in my career, and would recommend one highly."

"This was an excellent session, highly recommended!"
