The UNB Ballistic & Mechanical Test Lab undertakes impact and environmental research projects and testing. The Lab’s capacities include primary and applied research collaborations, and testing services.
The lab is one of the most versatile of its kind in the world, with launch speeds from 1 m/s to over 8,000 m/s. It is a one stop shop with complementary services including environmental testing, functional testing, and material characterization.
The lab is a member of the Consortium for Aerospace Research and Innovation in Canada (CARIC), the Atlantic Canada Aerospace and Defence Association (ACADA), and the Aeroballistic Range Association (ARA).
The Lab provides services to leading commercial space systems providers and several of the largest global aerospace and defence OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and Tier One equipment suppliers.
