Alumni Trivia Campaign 2026
Overview
How well do you know UNB? Between Feb. 8 and May 1, 2026, we’ll be running a trivia contest testing your knowledge of UNB’s past and present.
This campaign will run exclusively on our Instagram platform (@unbalumni) as part of promoting engagement and participation among our alumni on Instagram.
There are two parts to this campaign, including multiple instant-win opportunities, and one grand prize opportunity taking place after all instant-win opportunities have ended.
How it Works
- Each trivia question will be posted as an Instagram story poll
- Instagram story polls remain active for 24 hours
- Each trivia question will be posted on a Sunday at 12:00 p.m. (noon, Atlantic Time)
- Tapping an answer on the poll will count as an entry for both the instant-win prize and the grand prize
- Instant-win prize
- Only correct responses will be entered into a random draw for the instant-win prize of a $25 Starbucks gift card
- Grand prize
- All responses, including incorrect responses, are considered entries toward a final draw at the end of the trivia campaign
- Example:
- Ashley answered four trivia questions; three answers were incorrect; one answer was correct.
- Ashley had one entry in the random draw for the instant-win prize for the corresponding correct answer, and four entries for the grand prize draw held at the end of the campaign.
- This rewards individual trivia participation (one question, one answer, one entry for the instant-win opportunity), while incentivizing participating in all trivia questions by providing a cumulative engagement benefit (more answers, more entries for the grand prize).
Eligibility
- To participate, an entrant must be a current UNB student or a UNB alum as recognized and defined by the UNB Associated Alumni (see description at the bottom of this page). UNB employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives, and immediate family members of each of the above are not eligible to win.
- Only one entry per person will be counted per trivia question.
- Accounts showing suspicious activity—including, but not limited to, multiple or duplicate accounts—may be disqualified.
- Burner or anonymous accounts with no identifiable name or information may be disqualified at the discretion of UNB Associated Alumni.
- Winners will be required to provide proof of eligibility when contacted, such as UNB ID, or another form of verification approved by UNB Associated Alumni.
- Entries will only be accepted during the time when the corresponding Instagram Stories are accessible.
- Entrants are responsible for the cost of their connection to the internet. UNB Associated Alumni does not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted, or secure access to the internet or social media platforms.
- UNB Associated Alumni reserves the right to cancel, suspend, withdraw, or amend the contest or rules in any way, without prior notice or obligations, in the event of an error, technical problem, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or any other cause beyond the control of UNB that interferes with the conduct of the contest.
Instant-Win Details
- Winners will be contacted via Instagram DMs during the following week.
- Winners will receive a $25 Starbucks electronic gift card. A physical gift card may be possible, but is not guaranteed.
- Winners will have 14 calendar days to respond after being notified.
- If a winner does not respond within this timeframe, their entry will be deemed ineligible for that draw, and UNB Associated Alumni may select an alternate winner at its sole discretion.
- The ineligible entry would still count as an entry toward the grand prize.
Grand Prize Details
- Winners will be contacted via Instagram DMs at the end of the contest, no later than May 15, 2026.
- Winners will receive a bonus $25 Starbucks gift card and a copy of Project Aude: The UNB History Card Game.
- Winners will have 14 calendar days to respond after being notified.
- If a winner does not respond within this timeframe, their entry will be deemed ineligible for that draw, and UNB Associated Alumni may select an alternate winner at its sole discretion.
