| ENGL2804 | Reading Through Treaty | 3ch (3C) W |
|---|---|---|
This course considers what it means to do the work of an English scholar – close reading, analytical writing, research, etc. – in the unceded and unsurrendered Wabanaki homelands, lands that are governed by the laws of Peace and Friendship. How can (or must) treaty contexts inform (or transform) the way in which students and scholars read primary texts and create secondary materials about those texts? Students will learn about the Peace and Friendship Treaties and about what it means to be a “treaty person” in the context of the literary studies classroom. | ||
