SOCI3667	Icons of Non-Violence II (Cross-Listed: CCS 3667)	3 ch (W)
Examines the religious, philosophical and ethical justifications for non-violence as a tool for social change in the contemporary world from perspectives of diverse religious traditions. We will study the concepts and theories of non-violence that may include selected writings of the 14th Dalai Lama, Cesar Chavez and Wangari Maathai in their religious, cultural, social and historical backgrounds. NOTE: Credit can only be obtained for one of SOCI 3667 and CCS 3667. Prerequisite: 30 ch or permission of the instructor.
