Experimentation plays a central role in the study of physics and science in general. This course helps students develop the skills and mindset of a professional scientist. These skills include taking measurements and assessing their quality, refining/modifying the experiment to improve the quality of the data, building models and subsequently contrasting the data with models to derive meaning from the success or failure of the models, and extending the experiment to test the limits of simplifications that were perhaps built into the model. Co-requisite: PHYS 1051. |
