Provides a concentrated study of the work of selected major directors of narrative, documentary, and experimental cinema. Concepts and theories of authorship are incorporated into close analysis of selected bodies of work. The films are considered in terms of thematic and stylistic consistency and variation as well as biographical, social, and political factors. Prerequisite: MAAC/FILM 2022.
