Provides a concentrated study of the work of slected major directors of narrative, documentary, and experimental cinema. Concepts and theories of authorship are incorporated into close analysis of selected bodies of work. The films are considered in terms of their thematic and stylistic consistency and variation as well as biographical, social, and political factors. Prerequisite: MAAC/FILM 2022
