Provides an introduction to adult literacy education as well as critically examining the research and theory about adult literacies. Adult learning priniciples, instructional strategies and techniques that are used to develop adult literacy skills will be examined. Course topics include, but are not limited to, digital literacy, barriers to literacy, the development of language and literacy skills in groups, as well as literacy coaching. Students may receive credit for ED 4115 or ADED 4115, but not both. |
