MATH1853Mathematics for Business I3 ch (3C)

This course will cover mathematical concepts of particular interest to Business students. Topics include elements of set theory and basic counting principles, a review of elementary functions, logarithmic and exponential functions, linear systems, matrices, systems of linear inequalities, arithmetic and geometric  sequences, simple and compound interest, annuities, sinking funds and amortization. Applications to Business and Economics will be emphasized throughout the course. NOTE: Credit will not be given for both MATH 1833 and MATH 1853. It carries no credit for certain programs. Please consult with a faculty advisor.

Prerequisites: A minimum grade of 70% in NB Foundations of Mathematics 120 or a minimum grade of 60% in NB Pre-Calculus 120A and Pre-Calculus 120B (or equivalent).
