This course prepares students to attend to issues emerging from client diversity including those related to culture, sexual orientation, and disability. Diversity issues in identity formation, societal context, and mental health will be considered. Components of the counselling process and ethical practice will also be examined in relation to matters of diversity. The role of advocacy in counselling psychology practice will also be explored as it relates to responding to presentations of client diversity.
