Joint Liaison Committee

(Approved 15 September 2010)

Terms of Reference

Mandate:

In circumstances where there is divergence of opinion between the two Senates, and in the absence of other reasonable or expedient means of resolving said differences, a Joint Liaison Committee (JLC) would be struck by the President in his capacity as Chair of the two University Senates. The JLC’s composition would consist of both ex officio and faculty membership, the latter chosen as circumstances warranted. The President would charge the JLC with providing advice as to the degree to which university-wide consensus was required and, where such consensus was necessary, the JLC would attempt to resolve disagreements to the satisfaction of both parties and recommend back to the President.
