(a) Terms of Reference

(Approved by F Senate January 2017, May 2017)

The Senate Internationalization Committee advises and makes recommendation to the Fredericton Senate on matters related to the internationalization of the Fredericton campus.  It promotes the development and review of the international objectives and priorities of the Fredericton campus.

Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Committee may:

  1. advise Senate on matters related to internationalization;
  2. develop and review long-term and mid-term objectives, plans and priorities for internationalization initiatives for presentation to Senate;
  3. undertake and organize such studies of, and consultations on, the University's internationalization objectives, methods, organization and policies as it deems necessary, or as are referred to it by the President, the Senate, or a Faculty Council through Senate;
  4. promote proposals as appropriate for consideration by academic units and Senate in areas of internationalization matters;
  5. review and advise Senate on international memoranda of understanding (MOU) proposals and renewals from academic units prior to submission ot Senate or reference to other Senate Committees and bodies at UNBSJ as appropriate.

Note:  When the Committee is considering matters with financial implications for the Fredericton campus, it will consult with the Vice-President (Administration and Finance) on these matters.
