What do I wear?
We want you to be comfortable but professional, remember you may be presenting your strategy to a panel of judges.
What should I bring?
Just bring your brains, your enthusiasm and your smiling faces! Everything else is supplied.
How do we win the game?
Winning requires teamwork! The top six teams from “the game” will be selected based on financial results. The successful teams and two wildcard teams (selected at random) will then face a panel of judges consisting of local business people, who will base their decisions on a combination of things; profit, presentation and strategy. Teams must write down reasons for making their decisions on Price, Inventory, etc.
Some key points to remember when recording your strategy are as follows:
- You will only have 5 minutes to present; use only relevant information
- Remember, presentation, spelling, grammar, etc. will set the environment within which the information is rated!
How much will overnight accommodations cost?
Accommodations will be at the Hilton Saint John. Your cost per room will be $60.00 per room payable to the University of New Brunswick Saint John. The Faculty of Business will be subsidizing the balance of the room costs. Each room can be occupied by 1-4 people of the same gender, see form.
What about parking?
For the day of the event only, an on-campus parking pass will be provided to you free of charge. Your team may park in any of the general parking areas (any not marked specifically for faculty and staff) with the parking pass displayed. Please let us know how many vehicles will be attending.
Who do we go to with questions the day of the game?
In addition to the 5 Consultant meetings your team will be allotted, each team will be assigned a UNBSJ student volunteer. This student will not be there to give advice, however, they will ensure your team knows how to use the computer equipment and help with any general questions.
