FOCUS CAE is a multi-phase initiative designed to improve the process of administering contracts for UNB’s Contract Academic Employees, as the current processes are lengthy and hard to maintain.

Since the initiative's launch, FOCUS CAE has updated UNB's Contract Academic Employees’ Right of First Refusal (RoFR) status to house it within Colleague and introduced a new Contract Management System.

Future FOCUS CAE aspects include updating the RoFR system from changes in the third collective agreement, identifying the solutions for managing RoFR assessments, and bringing UNB Online courses into the contract system.

FOCUS CAE is being led by a steering committee composed of senior staff:

-       Terry Nikkel, associate vice-president, ITS [Chair of Steering Committee]
-       Ryan Johnston, HR counsel (faculty relations)
-       John Kershaw, assistant vice-president academic (partnerships)
-       Laurelle LeVert, associate vice-president (Saint John)
-       Heather Ongo, director of business transformation
