Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE)

AASHE helps to create a brighter future of opportunity for all by advancing sustainability in higher education. By creating a diverse community engaged in sharing ideas and promising practices, AASHE provides administrators, faculty, staff and students, as well as the businesses that serve them with thought leadership and essential knowledge resources, outstanding opportunities for professional development, and a unique framework for demonstrating the value and competitive edge created by sustainability initiatives.

Association for Energy Efficiency (AEEE)

AEEE is a source for information and networking surrounding energy engineering, energy management, renewables, power generation, energy services, sustainability and related areas.

Atlantic Universities and Colleges Sustainability Network (AUCSN)

AUCSN facilitates information sharing and cooperative initiatives among post-secondary institutes in the Atlantic Canada region. UNB has been a member with AUCSN since 2011.    

Building Owners and Managers Association Building Environmental Standards (BOMA BESt)

BOMA BESt  is a Canadian industry standard for commercial building sustainability certification based on internationally recognized and accepted Green Globes environmental assessment plan.

This is a consistent framework to critically assess energy, water, waste reduction and site, emissions and effluents, indoor environment and environmental management systems.

BOMA BESt has 4 levels of certification. UNB has been a member of BOMA since January 2013.        

Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC)

CaGBC is a not-for-profit, national organization working since 2002 to advance green building and sustainable community development practices in Canada.

With a membership of over 1600 industry organizations involved in designing, building and operating buildings, homes and communities, the Council has made excellent inroads to achieve the mission of reducing the environmental impact of the built environment.
