About the faculty

We have been building and moving New Brunswick forward for more than 150 years, with game-changing scientific discoveries and life-altering technology.

Our engineers are at the heart of national and global organizations, and form the backbone of entire sectors. We’re proud to have founded engineering education in Canada, and are now helping lead the entrepreneurial revolution in this country.

Gain the skills you need to design and build smart structures, make cleaner fuels and design software for tablets and smartphones. You’ll also have the tools to be able to develop renewable energy systems, build artificial limbs, develop hydrocarbon reservoirs or land surveying.

Student life

We have some of the best undergraduate laboratories in the country, with upwards of $1 million invested into facilities every year.

Travel while you learn or work for industry-leading companies while you study.

We create entrepreneurs through the Technology, Management and Entrepreneurship (TME) program that gives students essential business and entrepreneurial skills for careers in engineering.

Face real-world challenges in the classroom

We are home to unique, world-class research centres:

And our students partner with major corporations such as IBM, Google and McCain to develop next-level technology used worldwide.

Research that makes a difference

Over 90 per cent of UNB Engineering faculty members are engaged in research. They attract over $17.7 million per year in research revenue.

We are developing technologies to help improve satellite imagery used by Google Earth and the Canadian Department of National Defence. Others are helping develop biofuels and renewable energy systems.
